If you live near Santa Cruz, California, have allergies, and have not found an effective treatment through  modern Western medicine, you may have thought that no effective treatments exist at all. NAET (Nambudripad Allergy Elimination Techniques) may be able to successfully alleviate your allergy symptoms.

What is NAET?

NAET is a process discovered and developed by Dr. Devi S. Nambudripad in 1983 as a non-invasive, drug-free, natural solution to allergies of all kinds and intensities. It uses a blend of techniques, including:

  • Selective energy balancing
  • Treatment procedures
  • Acupuncture
  • Acupressure
  • Allopathy
  • Chiropractic
  • Nutrition
  • Kinesiology
  • Testing

What can NAET Treat?

NAET has been shown to effectively treat a broad range of food and other allergies, including:

  • Egg
  • Milk
  • Peanuts
  • Penicillin
  • Aspirin
  • Mushrooms
  • Shellfish
  • Latex
  • Grass
  • Ragweed
  • Flowers
  • Perfume
  • Animal Dander
  • Animal Epithelial
  • Make-up
  • Chemicals
  • Cigarette Smoke
  • Pathogens
  • Heat
  • Cold

…and other environmental agents.

What is NAET Treatment Like?

With NAET, one allergen is treated at a time. A person with mild to moderate allergies may take about 15-20 office visits to desensitize 15-20 food and environmental allergens.

Basic essential nutrients are treated during the first few visits. Chemicals, environmental allergens, vaccinations, immunizations, etc., are treated after completing about 15 basic essential nutrients and common allergens.

NAET and Allopathy/Western Sciences

Knowledge of the brain, cranial nerves, spinal nerves, and autonomic nervous system from Western medicine enlightens us about the body’s efficient multilevel communication network. Through this network of nerves, vital energy circulates through the body, carrying negative and positive messages from the brain to each and every cell in the body and back to the brain. Knowledge of the nervous system, its origin, travel pathway, the organs and tissues that will benefit from its nerve energy supplies (target organs and tissues), and its destination, helps us to understand the energy distribution of particular spinal nerves that emerge from the 31 pairs of spinal nerve roots.

Western sciences and allopathy are used to help support NAET treatments.
Kinesiology is used in NAET to compare the strength and weakness of any muscle

NAET and Kinesiology

Kinesiology is the art and science of movement of the human body. Kinesiology is used in NAET to compare the strength and weakness of any muscle, also known as neuromuscular sensitivity testing (NST), of the body in the presence and absence of any substance. A measured weakness in the presence of a substance is due to the effect of an allergy or hypersensitivity to the item the person is touching.

This simple method can be used to detect your allergens. This finding is verified via appropriate laboratory testing. One of them is known as IgE (Immunoglobulin-E). These tests detect the presence and levels of antibodies in the blood towards the particular allergen tested. These tests are essential before beginning the desensitization treatment using acupuncture/acupressure modalities.

Important disclaimer

NAET does NOT claim to cure allergies or food, chemical and environmental sensitivities. Any and all allergy treatment must be supervised by an approved and licensed health professional. In certain cases, an allergist consultation may be required. Persons with severe allergies should never assume that their allergy is cured and experiment on their own with the offending substance. Anaphylactic reactions are life-threatening, so a person experiencing swelling of the lips, throat, or tongue, shortness of breath, trouble breathing, or wheezing should call 911 immediately. Persons with anaphylaxis should always have access to an Epi-pen in the event of a severe allergic reaction.

NAET with Dr. Bill Schoenbart

I was fortunate to have been trained in person by Dr. Nambudripad in her last set of classes before she “retired”. She is still quite active in preparing advanced classes online for practitioners, so I have been able to stay up-to-date with this extraordinary technique. If you would like to make an appointment to discuss your own allergy situation, visit the New Patients page here or the contact page here.
